Sky remembers the receding pale blue of hazy holiday afternoons in the blazing summers of the 1970s. Light so bright, colours caught on our 24 exposure films seemed unreal. Tropical foliage and rich leafy greens were the antidote to the plastic and polished chrome of seventies modern. Tropical houseplants hanging in macramé nets sat easily with rattan furniture. Nature, crafting and the beginning of widespread DIY projects, sparked a new direction in interior design. Sky celebrates bringing the outside in with a rich mix of leafy greens over a clear summer horizon. In contrast, the block and fault designs are a mix of soft pale blues.
