About Linear Mosaic

Linear is one of those patterns that makes more sense before you look at it too closely. Lines cross and disappear, only to turn up somewhere unexpected. Try following one and the certainty quickly falls apart.

There are traces of tartan and woven cloth, although Linear takes the idea somewhere more abstract. The familiar over and under becomes increasingly tangled. What should provide order starts playing tricks instead.

That slight confusion is part of the attraction. The surface seems to contain different levels, with some lines slipping behind others. Then the eye adjusts and everything becomes flat again.

Natural stone adds its own interruptions. Veins and tonal changes wander across the geometry without paying much attention to its rules. Precision meets something altogether less predictable.

Linear never really offers a route through. Better to stop trying to solve it and enjoy getting slightly lost.
