Design Commissions
Developing a new collection involves more than creating individual designs. It requires an understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and the character of the company bringing those designs to market.
My work spans glass and stone mosaics, terrazzo, ceramic and porcelain tiles, and wallpaper. Each material offers its own possibilities, from intricate ornament and graphic geometry to colour, texture and three-dimensional form. I enjoy exploring these differences and finding ways to develop collections with a distinct identity.
Much of my work comes from long-standing collaborations with European manufacturers. These relationships have given me a practical understanding of product development, from early ideas and design research through to sampling, refinement and production. They have also reinforced the importance of balancing creative ambition with the realities of manufacturing and the commercial market.

Working Together
I work with manufacturers looking to develop original collections, extend existing ranges or explore new directions in materials and pattern.
A commission might involve a single design, a coordinated series or the development of an entirely new collection. Depending on the brief, my involvement can include concept development, pattern and colour research, collection planning and ongoing creative direction.
I approach each project individually, taking time to understand the manufacturer’s capabilities, existing product range and intended market. The aim is to develop work that feels relevant to the business while introducing something new to its offering.
Projects can take the form of individual commissions or longer-term design collaborations. We agree the scope, development process and commercial terms at the outset, including the intended use of the designs.
