Dart

Dart borrows its idea from tailoring, where a small stitched tuck brings shape to cloth. Once pressed, it leaves a neat crease, often marked by little more than a change in shadow.

The modesty of the detail is important. A dart makes an adjustment, bringing material into line without drawing attention to the intervention. Here, that discreet gesture becomes the pattern.

Repeated across the mosaic, the idea moves away from clothing while retaining something of its origin. Tonal changes suggest the shadow around a fold, while the regular arrangement gives the small adjustment a new rhythm.

Dart is really about that transformation. A minor piece of tailoring, normally absorbed into the finished garment, becomes the starting point for decoration. What was designed to disappear has been given permission to remain visible.
