About Connection Tricorn

Tricorn has a nautical air to it, although the reference is deliberately loose. The name naturally brings the three cornered hat to mind. However, the shape has other associations that make it harder to pin down.

There is something shell like about it too. It is simplified sections of a turtle shell, where geometry emerges naturally rather than feeling imposed. That makes the form interesting because it sits comfortably between nature and design.

I like the fact that the shape never settles into one reading. You might see the hat immediately, while someone else sees a shell. Another person might simply read it as an unusual piece of geometry.

That uncertainty is really where Tricorn becomes interesting. The references are there, but they remain in the background. What survives is a simple form with a faintly nautical character and a curious familiarity.
