About Shadow Gold Mosaic

Shadow started with one of those moments when sunlight makes you notice a building differently. Rows of balconies create their own order, but strong shadows can completely disrupt it.

In bright sun, architecture becomes unexpectedly graphic. Edges sharpen, projections turn into dark blocks, and familiar proportions suddenly feel exaggerated. The shadow can become every bit as important as the structure casting it.

That ambiguity is what sits behind Shadow. It borrows from the strange way light can flatten solid architecture into pattern. At the same time, shadows can suggest ledges and recesses that do not exist.

Precious metal brings another side to the idea. Gold and silver react constantly to light, moving between brightness and a softer gleam. Against stone, that shifting quality feels especially appropriate.

Shadow began with an effect that disappears as the sun moves. Reworking it in stone and precious metal gives that fleeting moment a rather different permanence.
