About Stitch Squat Brick

Squat Brick takes Squat and nudges every other row along. That is pretty much the whole idea.

It is the familiar brick bond we see everywhere, although without the brick. The offset breaks up those straight stacks and gives the rectangles a little more movement.

There is not much point pretending the geometry is doing anything clever. It is simple, familiar and incredibly useful. What makes it interesting again is colour.

Different combinations can make the rows more obvious or allow them to blend together. Sometimes the brick bond almost disappears. At other times, colour picks it out and makes the simplest arrangement feel decorative.

Squat and Squat Brick are really close relatives. One stacks neatly, while the other moves along half a step. Sometimes that is all a pattern needs.
